Case Study: When an NFT Art Collective Needed to Get Organized, Alteon was the Answer

c3 collective

Kelly Moran is a software investor and strategic advisor in the Web3 space, as well as the lead organizer of an art group called C3 Collective, which specializes in photography and hyper-realistic NFTs. After first hearing about Alteon, Moran realized her collective could significantly benefit from adopting the platform for its own workflow to get better organized.

**Problem**

Moran realized Alteon could help with two problems. The immediate one involved marketing materials: during a recent NFT shoot, the collective captured roughly two terabytes of behind-the-scenes footage, including photos and videos shot on various professional cameras and smartphones. Moran wanted to leverage these assets for the collective’s revamped social media and marketing strategy, but all the assets were housed on different prosumer storage solutions that belonged to different people, and navigating permissions was a nightmare, especially as they onboarded new team members. This situation hinted at a bigger systemic problem: Moran wanted a better system to organize assets for subsequent NFT collections, since organizing photo and video content was one of the most difficult and time-consuming aspects of the project thus far.

**Goals**

• Help the C3 Collective get organized with their art and marketing materials, including specific folders, custom meta tags and clear user permissions

• Set up a new streamlined workflow for future photography projects, which will include thousands of assets being exported into many different file formats and sizes

• Lay the groundwork for a direct-to-NFT process that makes it easier to edit, find and publish NFTs from a single space

**Solution**

Moran had no trouble signing up to Alteon and uploading files. She immediately invited two team members, the main photographer and her new marketing lead, to begin sorting and uploading files. On a day when they were set to auction off one of their artworks, the photographer had no trouble using the platform for the first time, on deadline, to upload the necessary file to the right project. “I wouldn’t say there was any learning curve,” Moran said.

Alteon Cloud will be the single repository for all C3 Collective assets, including creative works and marketing materials. Moran is currently onboarding a handful of new team members to the collective and plans to incorporate Alteon into that process. “It’s going to be an integral part of our workstream,” she said. “Everyone is going to touch it in some way.”

In the near future, she hopes Alteon will help create consistency in their marketing materials. “Now that all our content is in a more organized space, we can make more consistent designs, rather than me doing things in a black hole,” she said.

Moran is keenly aware of Alteon Publisher, an upcoming tool, currently in exclusive beta testing, that will allow creators to generate smart contracts and publish NFTs to marketplaces such as OpenSea in a single click. Moran is “definitely excited” for that functionality, as it will simplify her group’s entire workflow, from conceptualization to publication. Given the irrevocability of NFTs, she believes this tool will be valuable for all Web3 creators, not just artists, since organization is fundamental to success. Alteon “will decrease the risk associated with metadata and version management when deploying these contracts to the blockchain,” she noted.

“By lowering the barriers associated with deploying NFTs, it’s making the whole process more seamless,” she said. “It’s lowering barriers to onboarding more people, lowering barriers for creators to come into the Web3 space and have this all-in-one tool.”
